Hello!
It feels so good to be caught up with our blogging, and I can now just focus on what we actually did today! Today was spent visiting, fellowshipping, and praying with a few different churches.
In the morning, we took the tunnelbana (If you remember what that means :-) ) to a suburb of Stockholm called Husby where we met with the pastor of a church from there as well as the pastor of a church in the neighboring town of Rinkeby. During our time, we learned more about the history of the Swedish evangelical church as well as about what the Husby and Rinkeby churches are doing and how we can pray for them. It was a very enjoyable time of encouragement and prayer.
After lunch in Husby, we went to Alvik (a district in Stockholm) where we met with the pastor of New Life Church, John van Dinther, and other New Life leaders in addition to other members of the Evangelical Free Church in Sweden. It was exciting to hear about their goals (including hoping to plant 75 new churches between 2010 and 2020) and to pray with them.
In the evening, we walked around Gamla Stan (the old part of Stockholm) and saw some of the architecture and history of Sweden (including guards outside the royal palace in shiny hats and blue uniforms). It was a pleasant way to relax and it was very impressive to see buildings that are hundreds of years old.
Thanks for reading, and please continue to support us with your prayers!
It's very fun for us to read your updates and hear about all the Swedish believers you have met! We are praying for you!
ReplyDeleteThank you for carrying the Gospel in your hearts to distant places, and for sharing and encouraging fellow believers in Sweden. May the radiance of Jesus bless those and uplift those around you. My prayers have been going with you as you live for the sake of the Name. Henry
ReplyDeleteThank you!! We really appreciate your prayers!
